Get to Know Alyssa Lockhart, DDS
Dr. Alyssa Lockhart’s unique brand of general dentistry combines her skillset with a strong sense of empathy, her desire to continuously strengthen her abilities, and a passion for being involved in the community. Sharing her talents and skills in a meaningful way is a driving force in her desire to continue to grow a successful practice in the Greater New Orleans area.
Where Did You Study Dentistry ?
Originally from New Orleans, Dr. Lockhart migrated to Texas after Hurricane Katrina but returned to LSU where she earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences. She earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery with Distinction in Dental Education from UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry.
Tell Us About Your Journey Into Dentistry ?
Before dental school, Dr. Lockhart was a Registered Dental Assistant at Northwest Pediatric Dental in Spring, Texas. She was an Associate Dentist at a practice in Metairie before joining our team at MoreSMILES Dental. She has received numerous awards for leadership and community service in local and national philanthropic organizations.
Notably, Dr. Lockhart was on a team that won a grant for a project to provide oral cancer screenings, biopsies, scanning and oral hygiene for vulnerable Afghan males. She was spotlighted in the San Antonio District Dental Society Journal for her work with the San Antonio Refugee Clinic, and was the recipient of the Dr. Jeanne Craig Sinkford Leadership Award at UTHSASD.
Dr. Lockhart and her NOLA-born husband are settled here in Southeast Louisiana, cherish their strong family ties, and she is very happy to join the MoreSMILES Dental family.
