You'll notice and appreciate our attention to the details of sterilization and infection control in our dental office.

  • We do not use latex gloves so as to eliminate the potential for allergic reactions in latex sensitive patients.
  • Our water supply for each treatment chair is bottled distilled water, replenished daily and dispensed via an enclosed system. Our water lines are protected from bacteria build-up.
  • All waste disposal is under-counter and accessed through minimal 4-inch openings. The waste bags are "collared" directly onto the waste chute so waste is disposed of efficiently and is contained tightly inside the bag.
  • Instruments are stored in stainless steel cassettes, then wrapped in special paper and sealed with adhesive. The cassettes are autoclaved and placed in sterile storage until your treatment begins. The seal is broken at chairside when you and the doctor or hygienist are ready.
  • Surfaces are disinfected after every patient with FDA-approved chemicals as appropriate.
  • Additionally, our barrier protection provides another layer of safety. New shields are placed before every appointment.
  • Our sterilization room is specially designed and built to eliminate cross-contamination between patients. All contaminated cassettes and instruments are immediately enclosed in a special cabinet until they are placed in cold sterile solution and then cleaned ultrasonically. They are heat dried before being wrapped, sealed and autoclaved. Sterile instruments are then stored in a separate enclosed cabinet until they are taken to a treatment room for use.
  • The personal protection gear that our staff wears at all times in the clinical area is laundered every day in our on-site laundry center.
  • We comply with hazardous waste disposal as dictated by federal and state laws and use disposables wherever necessary.
  • All sharps are safely handled and stored until removed from the premises by a licensed hazardous waste disposal company.
  • Radiation exposure is reduced 95% with our digital radiographs. Additionally, we continue to monitor exposure by wearing personal badges that are tested monthly for exposure levels.
