Replacing Old Crowns

Teeth are whitened first so that new restorations will be matched to the whitest shade of natural teeth. Then the front 7 teeth were crowned or veneered to create a more aesthetic, younger-looking smile for this patient. The edges of the teeth were elongated so that more teeth show in the natural smile. The gum tissue was raised slightly and evened out with the laser. The new restorations are all porcelain to eliminate the metallic collars at the gum line, and the porcelain was carefully and artistically created in gradated shades for a more natural-looking, less bulky appearance.

Teeth In A Day

Here's a case Dr. Moreau did today that is a great example of how our CEREC technology can benefit patients by completing restorations in a single visit.

This gentleman wanted his front four teeth fixed, but didn't want to have to wear temporary crowns and then come back for a second visit for delivery of the permanent crowns. With the CEREC (cad-cam, or computer-assisted design/manufacture), Dr. Moreau prepared the teeth this morning for the crowns, took digital impressions, designed the teeth to match the patient's smile, selected shade and had the crowns milled from individual porcelain blocks in-house.

Within a few hours, our happy patient left with a brand new smile. The Waterlase MD laser also helped even out his gumline for a more aesthetic look. And thanks to our professional assistant, Corey, for a precision-perfect assist at chairside with Dr. Moreau. Another reason we believe our team is truly the Dream Team of Dentistry!
